Casa DaVinci — Philosophy of Creation

Creating gives us a way to participate in life. An idea becomes a gesture, the gesture changes something, and that change invites a response. We move from watching the game to stepping onto the field. Our creation extends the reach of our being.

In my own life, injury narrowed the paths available to me. I had to learn new ways to move, work, and begin. Creation gave me a direction worth following. Passion supplied the energy for the next step. Sometimes that step was very small, but it opened a possibility I could build on. This experience is part of the foundation of Casa DaVinci.

A mobile makes adaptation visible. Change one piece and the balance shifts. Move a pivot and the whole composition responds. Each adjustment asks us to notice what is happening and find a new relationship between the parts. Balance remains alive because we keep responding to change. The same question appears in our lives: what is possible now, with what we have?

Creation brings intuition and precision into conversation. A colour, a shape, or a material attracts us before we can explain why. Then our hands encounter weight, distance, gravity, and resistance. We measure, test, and adjust. Precision helps our intention take form; intuition helps us discover where to go. Planning gives us a direction, while attention allows that direction to change as we learn.

Letting go is part of this work. We release our insistence on a particular result and listen to what the material allows. We learn when to intervene and when to leave room for movement. A small change may reveal something that force would have hidden. Clear observation helps us recognise what matters and set aside what merely crowds our attention.

The relationship continues after the piece is made. Air moves it. Light reveals another colour. A shadow or a passing reflection draws us back. We may change a piece and find a new balance, or simply stay with the movement for a while. These encounters can become personal rituals. SAM, Self Assisted Meditation, or Serenidad Autoasistida y Meditación, grows from this relationship between making, observing, and responding. Tu creación medita contigo.

Casa DaVinci carries this exploration into a shared space. In Taller DaVinci, people choose, build, discover, and learn together. Each person brings a different rhythm and finds a different expression. What began in my own experience becomes an invitation: create something, pay attention to its response, and discover what that encounter opens in you.
